1. Introduction

Welcome to BettaLearn (“Platform”, “we”, “us”, “our”). BettaLearn is an online social platform designed for homeschooling parents, homeschooled students, and educators to connect, communicate, and share information.

By accessing or using BettaLearn, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

2.1 Parents

Parents or legal guardians (“Parents”) may create accounts for themselves and for their children (“Students”). Parents must be at least 18 years of age.

2.2 Students

Students must be at least 7 years old

  • Student accounts can only be created by a Parent
  • Parents retain full control, visibility, and responsibility over Student accounts at all times
  • Parents are responsible for all activity conducted through their Student’s account

2.3 Educators

Educators may create accounts to market and promote their educational services. Educators acknowledge that:

  • They are not verified by BettaLearn
  • They operate independently and at their own risk

3. Nature of the Platform

BettaLearn is a technology platform only. We:

  • Do not provide educational instruction
  • Do not guarantee outcomes, quality, or suitability of educators
  • Do not supervise interactions between users

All interactions are conducted at users’ own discretion and risk.

4. Communications and Content

Users may:

  • Create profiles
  • Post content
  • Send messages
  • Participate in groups and events

You agree not to post or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, misleading, abusive, defamatory, or inappropriate for children.

We reserve the right to remove any content at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

5. Events and In-Person Meetings

The Platform may allow users to create or promote events, including in-person events.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • BettaLearn does not organise, supervise, or endorse events
  • Participation in events is entirely at your own risk
  • BettaLearn is not liable for injury, loss, damage, or disputes arising from events or in-person meetings
  • Parents are solely responsible for determining whether Student participation is appropriate.

6. Educator Fees and Payments

  • Educators are charged $4.99 AUD per month, with the first month free
  • Payments are processed via Stripe
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law
  • BettaLearn may change pricing with reasonable notice

7. Advertisements

BettaLearn may display advertisements, including programmatic advertising, now or in the future. We do not endorse advertised products or services.

8. Suspension and Termination

We may:

  • Suspend or terminate accounts
  • Remove content
  • Restrict access

This may occur with or without notice, including for serious breaches or safety concerns. A warning system may be implemented, but immediate termination may apply where appropriate.

9. Intellectual Property

All Platform content (excluding user content) is owned by BettaLearn or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BettaLearn is not liable for:

  • Educational outcomes
  • User conduct
  • Accuracy of content
  • Loss, injury, or damages arising from use of the Platform

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, unless mandatory local consumer laws apply based on your country of residence.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
