Community Guidelines & Child Safety Policy

1. Purpose

BettaLearn is designed to provide a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment for homeschooling parents, students, and educators. These Community Guidelines apply to all users and form part of BettaLearn’s Terms and Conditions.

2. Child Safety Commitment

BettaLearn is committed to protecting children and complying with applicable child-safety laws in Australia, the UK, the United States, and New Zealand.

Key principles:

  • Student accounts are parent-created and parent-controlled
  • Parents have full visibility of student activity
  • Safety takes priority over user access or content availability

3. Acceptable Behaviour

Users must:

  • Treat others with respect
  • Communicate appropriately with children
  • Use age-appropriate language
  • Act lawfully and honestly

Parents are responsible for monitoring their Student’s interactions.

4. Prohibited Conduct

The following is strictly prohibited:

  • Grooming, exploitation, or inappropriate contact with minors
  • Sexual, violent, hateful, or discriminatory content
  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
  • Sharing personal contact details with children without parental approval
  • Impersonation or misrepresentation
  • Solicitation outside the purpose of the Platform
  • Sharing illegal or unsafe material

Any attempt to bypass parental controls is grounds for immediate termination.

5. Educator Conduct Standards

Educators must:

  • Interact professionally and appropriately
  • Clearly represent their qualifications and services
  • Avoid misleading claims
  • Refrain from private communications with Students without parental oversight

Educators are not verified by BettaLearn.

6. Reporting & Enforcement

Users may report concerns or violations.

BettaLearn may:

  • Issue warnings
  • Remove content
  • Suspend or terminate accounts immediately where child safety or legal compliance is concerned

We may report serious matters to relevant authorities.

7. Zero-Tolerance Policy

Any behaviour that endangers children may result in immediate and permanent account termination without notice.
