1. Purpose

BettaLearn Pty Ltd ("BettaLearn", "we", "us", "our") is committed to maintaining a safe online environment for all users, particularly Students.

This Child Safety & Safeguarding Policy outlines the measures we take to protect children using the BettaLearn platform ("Platform") and the responsibilities of Parents, Guardians, and Educators.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to:

• Student profiles (minimum age 7)
• Parent and Guardian accounts
• Educator accounts
• All interactions occurring on the Platform

3. Core Safeguarding Principles

BettaLearn is guided by the following principles:

• Child safety is paramount.
• Parents retain primary control over Student accounts.
• Harmful behaviour will not be tolerated.
• Reports of unsafe conduct are treated seriously and acted upon promptly.
• We cooperate with law enforcement where required.

4. Account Structure & Safety Design

To enhance protection:

• Only Parents or Guardians may create Student accounts.
• Student accounts are fully controlled and managed by Parents.
• Parents may switch into Student profiles.
• Student first names are partially masked by default (initial only).
• Full names are visible only after mutual following.
• Private messaging functionality (if introduced) will include safety controls.

5. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

• Grooming or attempting to establish inappropriate relationships with a child
• Sexual content involving minors
• Bullying or harassment
• Threats or intimidation
• Sharing personal contact details with minors for off-platform contact
• Encouraging harmful behaviour
• Impersonation
• Exploitation of any kind

Any violation may result in immediate termination and referral to authorities.

BettaLearn intends to actively moderate content. However, moderation may also rely on user reports.

We reserve the right to remove any content that we consider harmful, inappropriate, or unsafe.

8. Educator Safeguards

Educators must:

• Be at least 16 years old
• Conduct themselves professionally
• Avoid inappropriate communication with Students
• Respect parental boundaries
• Not request off-platform contact with minors without parental involvement

BettaLearn does not independently verify educator qualifications or age unless explicitly stated.

Parents are responsible for conducting due diligence before engaging services.

9. Parental Responsibilities

Parents and Guardians agree to:

• Monitor Student activity
• Supervise online interactions
• Ensure compliance with local homeschooling regulations
• Immediately report safety concerns
• Educate Students about safe online behaviour

10. Data Protection for Children

We:

• Require parental consent for Student accounts
• Limit public visibility by default
• Minimise data collection
• Provide deletion functionality
• Allow Parents to review and modify Student data

11. Cooperation with Authorities

BettaLearn may disclose information to:

• Law enforcement
• Child protection agencies
• Regulatory authorities

Where we believe a child may be at risk or where legally required.

12. Zero-Tolerance Policy

BettaLearn has zero tolerance for:

• Child exploitation
• Grooming
• Abuse
• Harassment of minors

Accounts engaging in such behaviour may be permanently banned without notice.

13. Policy Updates

We may update this Policy to reflect legal requirements or improvements to safety practices.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any updates.
